Local Interest

Commercial and non-commercial pesticide training will take place at the Douglas County Extension Office. All attendees MUST register online at pested.unl.edu prior to the date of training. Seating is limited to 75, so please register and pay online. The cost is $95. (There is the option of online training for $80).

4-H empowers youth, ages 5-18, to reach their full potential working and learning in partnership with caring adults. 4-H is education for life that uses a learn-by-doing approach. In Nebraska, 4-H is present in ALL 93 counties across the state.

Do you enjoy continuing to learn, and sharing that wisdom with others? Consider volunteering as a Nebraska Extension Master Gardener. These volunteers take part in continuing education where they expand their knowledge and share the principles and practices of environmental horticulture. Learn more about the Nebraska Extension Master Gardener at our annual informational meetings. These meetings will explain how ideal applicants can volunteer and communicate horticulture knowledge with the diverse populations in Douglas and Sarpy Counties.

Seasonal and simple is a guide to help you select, store and prepare fresh fruits and vegetables. The recipes use simple preparations and seasonings, so you can taste the goodness of a fruit or vegetable at the peak of its flavor.
